More on that later.

Balls stated that the government was going to mess around, yet again, with education standards in UK schools. Come on, Ed! How many attempts do you want? You [the Government] should never have moved away from from the good old 11 plus, O' and A' levels.

Messing about with the exam process has been a huge mistake, but politicians being what they are, it is unlikely that they will admit the mistake and make the changes.

That wasn't their [the Governmnet again] worst mistake.

Their worst mistake was in placing the children of asylum seekers into UK class rooms before they had a standard of English (reading and writing) that would allow them to participate effectively. Unfortunately including the children in mainstream school has meant that resources have been ploughed into teaching basic English and providing one to one support to non-English speaking pupils. This has led to a decrease in standards across the board.

Before you respond with "Bias, prejudice, racism." I am not advocating exclusion, I am asking why the Government didn't provide basic Englsh lessons away from maistream schools so that these young children could learn the necessary language skills without having a detrimental impact on existing pupils.

At a later date I will share my thoughts on UK justice.
